Cirik Barandang Of Sumatera

You must be hungry. First, let me serve you some ‘rendang’ before I tell you the rest of the story:

What is rendang? Below is a short introduction of rendang dish from Wikipedia:

“Rendang is a spicy meat dish which originated from the Minangkabau ethnic group of Indonesia, and is now commonly served across the country. One of the characteristic foods of Minangkabau culture, it is served at ceremonial occasions and to honour guests. Also popular in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the southern Philippines and southern Thailand, rendang is traditionally prepared by the Indonesian community during festive occasions.”

Now the love magic:

This Cirik Barandang love magic is specific to Minangkabau ethnic in West of Sumatera.

The effect of this love magic will make a victim to be the yes man/woman and will do whatever he/she asked to do. Believe it or not, that is up to you. I am saying this according to my own experiences in treating victims of such love magic.

Cirik Barandang is made from feces and then make into ‘rendang’ seasoning in which portion of the meat for preparing the ‘rendang’ is taken from the sexual organ of a female water buffalo; while the feces is taken from the person who cast this love magic. As you can see, the casting of this love magic is pretty simple but the effect is great.

 And the treatment …

The victim of such magic is to drink his/her own urine. This urine must be collected and consume right after awakening in the morning. After that, take some shrimp paste with chili leaves. Diarrhea will occur within a few hours and all of the poisons of Cirik Barnading will be discharged out.

Oh I see, you are a vegetarian ...

  1. I didn't know about this kind of spells till you posted this article, I've been eating alot of rendang and now i feel like i want to stop eating it, you don't want someone else feces to be ur own flesh and blood :P . In my opinion, someone will do whatever he/she want just to get what he/she need especially putting feces in someone food. That is just pure evil. Hmmm

    1. I eat rendang regularly too and it is one of my favourite dish ... I am sure no decent people will put feces into other's food; may be Cirik Barandang is just a practice of the past, but we won't know :P
