Chi Blockage in Feng Shui (閉塞)

Chi blockage is a common issue faced by modern feng shui master.

Chi Blockage of a house is normally caused by unplanned renovations such as: addition of new room, storage area, kitchen or parking porch. These unplanned additional extensions block the passage of natural light and proper air circulations; directly causing the house to be dim and very moist. This phenomenon is extremely common in town area where space is limited.

Chi Blockage can happen to a house in the following conditions:

1. The foundation of the house is about 30cm lower than its surrounding land, and that the distance between it to its higher surrounding is less than 3m.

2. A hill or a tall building is less than 50m from the front of a house.

The negative effects of the chi blockage are:

1. The house tenants may suffer from poor health.

2. Lose money.

3. Emotionally unstable, quarrel or marriage problems.

4. Accidents and injuries.

5. Where the yin flying star visits, then spirits will congregate.

The remedies for chi blockage (where advisable):

1. Open more doors or windows to enhance ventilation.

2. Move to a new house.

3. Install additional mechanical ventilators.

In short, the blockage will delay the positive effects of good feng shui.
