Black Magic N Cyber Bully

After I start blog writing, I realized something called 'cyber bully'.

Later I realized black magic don't work, but cyber bully does.

When I start writing Thai magic, someone cautioned me not to fool with magic or else I could be blown out by POWERFUL black magician...

When I stopped writing blog to tackle my lady friend, the rumors continued to say that I was probably blown out by black magic...

I wonder what would those folks say next?

If black magic does work:

1. I would be blown into pieces and cast to hell by now.
2. The world would have been ruled by black magicians.
3. Those leaders we like to hate would not be so at ease.
4. Those forum members would not want to spread gossips within their circles...
5. Your wife would not be your wife at the first place...
6. Your boss would already be killed by those flying needles...
7. All of hard labours would be done by ghosts as they are free...
8. All banks would be empty by now...

So, I leave it to your own judgement to determine if black magic really works.

For those forum members who still throwing black magic at Mr. Liew, please continue to do so but please don't become cyber bully. If black magicians turn cyber bullies, then those folks had become the disgrace of black magic community.

The only conclusion I can make at this point is that the power of black magic lies on cyber bully... *SIGH*

Mental Depression (精神郁郁症)

In my observations and experience in fieldwork, mental depression is the most misunderstood and mistreated mental illness in our modern time. Both educated and uneducated folks of all ages will suffer mental depression at one time or another.

Sadly in Asia, mental depression is normally treated as spirit possession and many tragedies resulted consequently. It is very difficult for me to tell parents that their child is not possessed but suffering mental depression. To the majority of Chinese community for example, mental depression equals to 'siao' (crazy) and this brings disgraces to the family.

It is rather the case that their child is possessed and be cured by a spirit medium even that this child must have intimate relationships with the said medium. Many cases I have seen that the child I was supposed to cure has actually became somehow insane after rounds of sexual assaults and harassment under the 'permissions' of his/her parents.

My pal's mother was perfectly healthy before 65 years old when working. He thought that his mother was too old to work, so he forbade his old mother to perform any duties until so much so that the old lady suffered serious mental depressions and jumped down from her flat.

Luckily that the old lady survived with broken bones and until today, she is still under medication. As to my pal, he had to watch over and take care of his mother around the clock.

Since mental depressed patients can do all sorts of behaviors that are not their normal selves such as committing suicides, injuring their love ones, throwing babies from windows etc.. people think that they are possessed by evil spirits. Having said so, it is normally too late to do anything to save lives.
There are many tell tale signs that one can pick up if he/she cares of course:

1. The eyes of a possessed person is glassy and dumb, while the eyes of a mental depressed person is very lively. At an angle, the sights of a mental depressed person looks somehow sinister. You will get a message: "I will get you!"

Before my pal's mother jumped down from her flat, he told his mother to 'chap sang' meaning watch your life and the old lady gave him a sort of cheeky look that I felt a sudden shiver. The hidden message was: "I want you to see what I will do..."

2. A possessed person is normally drowsy and sleepy and lethargic, on the other hand, a mentally depressed one would behave more vigorous than the ordinary as they gather their energy to do a 'big' thing.

3. A possessed person would not think or do things that would hurt himself/herself. Just think for a while why does a ghost want to destroy a new house it has gained? So when a person talked about death, injuries, useless, pains etc. pessimistic issues; it is of his/her own will and not of the 'ghost'.
The best way to cure mental depressions is to prevent it from becoming serious. Bear in mind that everyone will have some sort of mental depression or another at any point in time.

There are some DIY points that I found effective at the initial stage:

1. Change your life style.
2. Pick up a hobby.
3. Find someone to talk to. This can be difficult as not many people you can talk to is a kind person. Many conman would take this opportunity to fish your money. Actually, to old folks, the best persons for them to talk to are their children.

I have spent much time with those people who thought to be possessed but later found that there were actually suffering mental depressions. Sadly speaking, not many people can be helped or willing to be helped. Helping the mental depressed requires resources that is beyond my ability.

The Ecstasy Pills Vs Spirit Possession

The side effects of consuming ecstasy pills (including  alcohol) need not be mentioned here and such information are available in the intranet and elsewhere. But for anyone who claims himself/herself as an exorcist, then it is worthwhile to take note of some physical symptoms of ecstasy pills so that unforeseen incidents would no be fallen onto both the exorcist and the person in ecstasy.

It is quite easy to identify the look of a person in ecstasy as he/she would just repeat an action repeatedly indulging with himself/herself. The action can be either mild or violent ranging from shaking of heads or running around.

There were many reports in the past that people fell to their death after consuming ecstasy pills from their apartment in Penang and KL. Since these folks may be violent provoked or unprovoked, it is just best to stay away from them unless you are trained to handle abrupt situations.

It is quite easy to see people in ecstasy or more commonly drunk after midnight hours especially around 2am to 4am in downtown areas. The drunk can be quickly identified because of thick alcohol scent attached with them. The ecstasy ones would act as if someone who are insane and they could probably perform some simple and repetitive actions on the street.

Once my pal and I exited a bar in downtown Penang a few hours after midnight and as we walked towards our hotel, we saw a gentleman who were doing a sort of repetitive odd movements in the middle of the road. The person kept swing his right fist in a circular motion as we observed.

Since the gentleman was standing in the middle of the road, we were a little concern about his safety though the street was practically empty then.

"May I know what are you doing, sir?" My pal asked.

"Can't you see? I am fishing" The person answered.

We were a little baffled by his answer. So I said to him: "Why do you fish in the middle of the ocean? The seashore is over that side?"

The man stopped his action and pondered for a while and then nodded his head: "So it is."

It was to our surprised to that the person started to reverse himself to the roadside and repeated his 'fishing' motion again.

Of course, in fieldwork, a person believed to be possessed and a person in ecstasy can be
differentiated by the fact that the person in ecstasy is aware of his surroundings but the one possessed (if and only if it is true) could not.

There are many tell tale signs that an experienced social workers or psychologists shall know. It is difficult to described with just a few words as the matter of fact.

The House Of Affair (外遇之屋)

To the uninitiated, all houses look the same; not so in the eyes of a Feng Shui master. I will skip the theories as I want to tell you this story:

My friends, Eric and Jess are married couple that almost got divorced after moving to their new house two years ago. Luckily the culprit was found right before their divorce case was filed.

The couple bought a second hand house somewhere around Greenlane and I used to pay them a visit during the weekend.

During one of my visits, I found the house atmosphere wasn't quite right; something fishy was in the midst of the air. The facial expressions of Eric and Jess were grim, they were not smiling to say the least.

I tried to break the ice but since I felt that I was talking to a wall, I decided to excuse myself. Just as when I stood up from the sofa, Eric broke the silence:

"Sorry, Liew. It's not about you. Jess and I were having a fight over suspicion of affairs..."

I halted and stood dumb founded in the living room didn't know how to react. Then Jess continued: "When I returned from my work one evening, after I parked my car; I walked pass our bedroom window. There I saw the silhouette of a lady combing her hair in front of the makeup mirror.

I immediately rushed into the master room and only found Eric sleeping in the bed. After searching around, no lady was found. I thought I had been working too hard and dismiss it as my own hallucination.

Then a few weeks later, I found my newly brought makeup items were scattered on the makeup table. So, I demanded an explanation from Eric but he put the blame on me as not doing my own housekeeping.

Naturally, two incidents are no coincidence to me and I started a quarrel. After some hostility, we decided to settle down as both of us were tired.

Then one day, my 7 year old son rushed into the kitchen and screamed: "Mummy, I saw a naked lady in the bathroom..."

That has really done it! I took my smartphone and rushed into the bathroom in the hope to catch a photo of this culprit. But there were no one in the bathroom...

Naturally after one quarrel following another, none of us are having any good manners."

After Jest blasted what were hiding in her stomach, surprisingly speaking; the atmosphere become comer.

I asked permission to walk around the house and finally came to a conclusion: "The house must be haunted!"

"The culprit should be a dark complexion young female started to make her appearance between 5pm to 7pm."

Jess jumped out from her couch and screamed: "How do you know?"

"Simple. It is just I-Ching." I replied.

"What can we do?" Eric asked.

"Simple. Switch on the bedroom light after 4pm until daybreak until September is over. That's all you must do."

Eric nodded and said: "Well, no harm trying as no cost involved."

I met the couple in December that year and apparently, Jess has not seen the ghost again once the light is kept on.

There are many things we can learn from the old knowledge of our ancestors I supposed.

Hantu Raya

'Hantu raya' is a Malay term for 'great spirit' literarily speaking. But since the greatest spirit is God, I would just call it a wandering spirit.

If you can see it, it is about 10~12 feet tall and its body is covered with black hair from top to bottom. This is another class of spirit I think as ordinary spirits are much smaller in sizes. A Hantu Raya was old bomohs' best assistant in bygone days.

When I was still small, once I accompanied my pa to my uncle's durian plantation. The plantation was located at the edge of a maiden jungle; and there is a river running by the plantation.

It was about dusk, my pa and I were sitting in a hut built for my uncle to watch over his durians during durian seasons so that no one could steal them.

As we were chatting, suddenly my pa raised his right index finger near his lips indicating me to keep silent: "Shhh... "

I felt strange but complied. Then pa pointed his finger at the river bank.

There I saw a huge long-haired figure stood by a boulder at the river bank. The figure seemingly looked at a distance across the river. After a while, it started to cross the river and vanished in the jungle.

My pa then said that it was the notorious 'hantu raya' waiting to be fed by its master but the master didn't keep his/her promise that time.

That was the first time I saw this spirit.

Then, during the final year of my secondary school, one of my Malay friend said he has inhereted a heirloom hantu raya. He used to show off his power in front of me by making friends with girls easily. To my astonishment, this guy was able to fish just about any girl to go out with him.

One day, I saw a strange huge creature following my pal's back. It looked like his shadow from afar.
So, I pulled him aside asked him what I saw. He confirmed that was his 'pet'.

Later, I got my own hantu raya which assisted me in herbs collection. It normally stay invisible but when I was lazy to give offering, this hantu raya would show its ugly face in my dreams asking for food offerings.

This hantu raya did gave my colleague, Jason a scare in Austria.

Me and my colleague was staying in a same hotel. One night, when Jason passed by my room and he heard I was talking in the phone. So, he decided to go to the lobby to watch TV and wait for me to come down.

As soon as Jason arrived at the lobby, I was already waiting for him grumbling the he was late again.

Jason's face immediately turned pale and he pulled me aside and asked: "Who was that in your room?"

I only smiled and said: "Oh, I can see that you are already drunk before our pub hopping tonight!"

After I practised Dorje Dorlo sadhana, the hantu raya never appear in front of me again. Of course, I have no intention to invoke it now or in future.

Putting Thai Magic Into Correct Perspective

On the surface, people in Singapore and Malaysia only thinks tattoo, love magic and amulets represent the actual practice of Thai magic. This is indeed a misconception and I can only try to put the authentic Thai magic into correct perspective.

Overall, Thai magic has a relatively tight structure to follow and according to various fields of study: herbalist, tattoo, arts, martial arts, culinary or even education. It is quite impossible to go into details of individual fields, since I was trained as a herbalist; I would just explore into Thai magic in herbalist.

Whatever school of magic one follows, the first ritual would be the 'wai kru' or the teacher's ritual. There are major invocation of teachers of the lineage and daily ritual opening prayers to the lineage teachers and spirits.

A prospective herbalist must also recites mantras to empower all his/her herbs so that their healing properties can be increased. After that he/she must also recites mantras for curing various injuries or illnesses so that all can be learnt by heart.

In traditional Thai medicine, 'kata' or 'mantras' are used in treating illnesses, massaging or applying medicines.

After the general morning ritual, an apprentice must go into the herbs garden or forest to collect herbs. There are about 100 to 200 types of herbs listed according of four elements: earth, air, fire and water. These herbs are combined to cure diseases caused by those four elements.

Other than mantras and rituals for herbs, a traditional Thai herbalists must also learn to control wild animals or treat poisonous animal and insect bites. In that he/she would also need the help of mountainous spirits as a servitor spirits.

The main functions of this servitor spirits is to protect the herbalist and also to guide him/her in finding the required herbs.

At times, a Thai herbalist must go into the forest to meditate in order to find new healing knowledge from the spiritual world. The mysterious 'lek lai' (molten iron) is just one of those discoveries by previous hermits but the usage was blown to sky high by Singaporean and Malaysian in the 90's.

The so-called 'corpse oil' is one of ingredients in traditional Thai and also Tibetan medicine. There is no record in saying that such oil can be used in love magic proper.

I only came to know about Kumanthongs, Phra Ngans and other gods and goddesses after the fact. Traditionally, an herbalist only worships Lersis and the Buddha and nothing else. The traditional altar is very simple. You will be able to see very simple altars in areas around Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand now days still.

Perhaps after reading this posting, Thai magic has become very unfamiliar to you?

The Restless Ones

Teluk Intan or previously Anson is a small town situated in the downstream of the Perak River in Peninsular Malaysia.

I was told that there were many very powerful Malay bomohs (shamans) practicised the infamous 'santau' (a type of poison) techniques until the late 70's. Naturally, these bomohs kept many servitor spirits known as 'hantu raya'.

These servitor spirits were said to be extremely powerful as they can build houses in the jungle and take the form of their masters to watch over the masters' properties. There is a catch though: if a master failed to give away his/her hantu raya, then he/she may not die until the spirit is removed.
According to a retired nurse, Aminah who worked in district hospital; she had seen many strange happenings related to bomohs whom refused to give out their last breathe.

In one occasion, an old man was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty and his body was moved to the morgue awaiting for his next of kin.

Not long after the corpse was in the morgue, various strange sounds started to come out from the old man's dead body.

As recalled by Aminah, the sound sounded as if someone was grasping for air coupled with moaning and groaning heavily. The drama continued until the body was buried.

In another incident, another female bomoh was sent to hospital after fainted in her house. Aminah was on night duty. She was cautioned by her colleague that the one in that particular sickbed was a powerful bomoh.

Aminah simply smiled as bomoh or not, the bomoh is still her patient.

It was around midnight, Aminah was performing her night rounds around the wards. Suddenly she saw someone in white was sitting on a tualang tree branch.

Feeling strange rather than afraid, Aminah walked to the tualang tree and raised her head. Almost immediately she could recognize that the person was the old lady bomoh. So, she shouted to the figure: "Come down nek!"

But the figure continued to swing her feet while looking upwards at the moon while producing cricket like sounds.

After looking at the figure for a while, Aminah realized that an old lady couldn't be on the tree in the midst of the night. She immediately returned to the sick-ward and there saw the old lady was lying quietly.

In the next morning, before Aminah returned home, she saw the old lady had awakened. So, she greeted the old lady. But the lady grabbed Aminah's right arm and said: "You saw it didn't you?"
"What?" Aminah asked surprised.

"The pelesit (a type of female vampire)." The lady continued.

"It was looking for a new master as my days are limited. Do you want to inherit it? The pelesit can bring you big fortune..."

Without thinking too much, Aminah wriggled herself off and ran out of the sick-ward.

On resuming her night duty, Aminah heard the old lady had passed away. Perhaps someone among her colleagues had taken over the pelesit's ownership? Aminah dared not think further as she was retiring soon...
